Questions, answered

How much cladding do I need?

Boards interlock, so each covers a little less than its 219mm overall width on the wall. Send us your wall or fence measurements (a phone photo is fine) and we'll give you an exact list of boards, trims and screws.

Can I clad over my existing fence?

Often, yes – as long as the posts are solid enough for the extra weight and wind load, and you can fix battens securely. Send us a photo if you're unsure.

Which screws do I need?

Timber battens or framing: 35mm self-tapping, 316 marine-grade stainless. Steel framing: 30mm self-drilling with a drill-point tip, 410 stainless.

Do I need a permit?

Fences over 2m generally need a building permit in Victoria. For walls near a boundary or in a bushfire-prone area, check with your building surveyor before cladding.

Does it need painting or oiling?

No. Wash with warm water and a soft brush and avoid harsh acidic or alkaline cleaners.

Does it resist termites?

WoodVance cladding is made to resist insects, rot and moisture. Your frame still needs to be termite-appropriate, such as treated pine or steel.
