SHAPESCAPER® is a modular Australian-made steel edging system, roll-formed from Australian BlueScope steel in Melbourne. What sets it apart is that the range does not stop at edging — ring planters, hexagonal planters and extendable modular box planters all use the same steel and the same two finishes, so an entire garden can be detailed in one consistent material.

Two finishes, one system

Every SHAPESCAPER® product comes in the same two finishes, so edging and planters can be specified together and will weather the same way.

Redcor®

Weathering steel that rusts to a warm orange-brown patina over 3–6 months, then stabilises. This is the finish most people picture when they search for rusted or corten garden edging.

Galvabond®

Zinc-coated steel in a neutral silver-grey that stays consistent and holds its colour from day one. The quieter option where you want the steel to recede.

Edging sizes and thicknesses

Thickness and height are linked — the taller the edging, the thicker the steel needs to be. Every length is 2400 mm, in both Redcor® and Galvabond®.

1.6 mm tops out at 185 mm high — for anything taller you need 2.0 mm or 2.5 mm, which run all the way to 590 mm for raised beds and planter-style surrounds. How much does SHAPESCAPER® edging cost?

Edging starts from $32.00 for 1.6 mm, $38.00 for 2.0 mm and $56.00 for 2.5 mm, with the exact price depending on height and finish. Stakes start from $3.39 and pre-made corners from $16.00. Ring planters start from $70.00 and modular box planters from $364.00. Trade and volume pricing is available — request a bulk quote or call 0456 776 666.

How tall does SHAPESCAPER® edging go?

Up to 590 mm. Heights are tied to thickness: 1.6 mm runs 75–185 mm, while 2.0 mm and 2.5 mm continue through 230, 290, 390 and 590 mm for raised beds and planter-style surrounds. Every length is 2400 mm.

What sizes do the SHAPESCAPER® planter boxes come in?

The modular box planters come in 500 mm and 700 mm heights, and because they are built from straight extender lengths plus corner units you can make the footprint almost any length you need. Ring and hexagonal planters come in fixed diameters — see box planters and ring planters for the size options.

Can I build a planter to a custom size?

Yes — that is the point of the modular box system. Order the corner units for the shape, then add straight extender lengths to reach the length you want. Send us your dimensions and we will work out the parts list.

Is SHAPESCAPER® made in Australia?

Yes. SHAPESCAPER® is roll-formed from Australian BlueScope steel and manufactured in Melbourne.

Can SHAPESCAPER® edging be bent into curves?

Yes. 1.6 mm curves easily by hand; 2.0 mm and 2.5 mm hold larger, smoother radii and take more effort. For sharp 90° corners, use the pre-made internal and external corner sections rather than folding on site. Full fixing details are in our installation guide.

How is SHAPESCAPER® different from FormBoss®?

Both are Australian-made steel edging with similar strength and lifespan. SHAPESCAPER® stands out for its modular planter system — rings, hexagons and extendable box planters that match the edging, so a whole garden can be detailed in one material.
